The presentation will discuss the issues surrounding the transition to the use of a molecular HPV test as the first-line screening method for cervical cancer. We will cover the history of the PAP test, its advantages and limitations, and then discuss the role of liquid-based cytology (ThinPrep), its performance, and its place in the new medical guidelines.
